KUANTAN, 29 September 2025: The Vehicle Theft and Accident Reduction Council of Malaysia (VTAREC) held a seminar on “Tadbir Urus Perjalanan Demi Keselamatan Jalan Raya Bagi Kenderaan Perdagangan”. This seminar held with government enforcement agencies including Polis Diraja Malaysia (PDRM), Jabatan Pengangkutan Jalan Malaysia (JPJ) and Pertubuhan Keselamatan Sosial
(PERKESO).

The strategic seminar was held at the Swiss-Garden Beach Resort Kuantan. The seminar was attended with great anticipation. The objectives of the strategic seminar were to knowledge exchange with respect to recent developments concerning the topic on “Tadbir Urus Perjalanan Demi Keselamatan Jalan Raya Bagi Kenderaan Perdagangan” including smuggling, cloning, and stolen spare parts associated with road traffic accidents.
The experts from diverse agencies were invited to deliver their sharing and presentation at the seminar. The speakers who graciously attended were:

The participants of the seminar expressed positive comments and took an active role in expressing their view points and asking questions to deepen their grasp of the issues that were addressed. The subject of “Tadbir Urus Perjalanan Demi Keselamatan Jalan Raya Bagi Kenderaan Perdagangan” and its relation to accidents have been the focus of each presentation that has been given by the speakers.
Overall, the enforcement of Speed Limitation Device (SLD) compliance is essential to ensuring that commercial vehicles operate safely and within the speed limits prescribed by law. Through mandatory installation, scheduled verification, documentation checks, and co-ordinated inspections, both at terminals and on the road, JPJ aims to strengthen regulatory adherence and reduce risks associated with unsafe driving practices. The outlined procedures, supported by recognised verification bodies and guided by UN R89 standards, provide a consistent framework for maintaining vehicle safety and protecting road users. With clear enforcement actions, defined consequences for non-compliance, and ongoing monitoring, this approach supports a safer, more disciplined and accountable commercial transport sector in Malaysia.
