The VTAREC exhibition booth and public awareness campaign aim to raise public awareness about the importance of keeping their vehicles safe and secure. The public is encouraged to install anti-theft equipment, such as steering wheel locks, gear locks or window etching, as well as loud alarm systems. Aside from that, the public can increase vehicle security by enhancing security systems such as immobilisers, global positioning systems (GPS), and the safe storage of key fobs for keyless car alarm systems. Public duty means preventing such crime, not just the crime of vehicle theft, but also other commonly linked crimes such as smuggling, drug trafficking, violent crimes, and so on.
