SARAWAK, 8 August 2024: The Vehicle Theft and Accident Reduction Council of Malaysia (VTAREC), together with the Jabatan Pencegahan Jenayah Keselamatan dan Komuniti (JPJKK) and Persatuan Jati Diri Sarawak (PEJADI), held discussions on the initiatives in conjunction with VTAREC’s campaign “United Against Vehicle Theft.” This community engagement focused on hotspot areas for vehicle theft. The initiatives aimed to raise awareness about vehicle theft and road traffic safety.
YDH ACP Tuan Dasuki Che Idriss, Timbalan Ketua JPJKK, and YBrs Puan Mas Tina Abdul Hamid, Co-ordinator of VTAREC, exchanged ideas regarding the upcoming initiatives.
In an effort to combat the rising issue of vehicle theft and enhance road safety, VTAREC, JPJKK and PEJADI engaged in discussions to collaborate on future community engagement initiatives. This program specifically targeted identified hotspot areas for vehicle theft, with the goal of educating and empowering residents with the knowledge and tools needed to safeguard their vehicles.
The proposed initiatives will take place on Saturday, 15 September 2024, at Dewan Kampung Bratan, Padawan, Kuching. The initiative will be carried out through an engaging event in Kuching, Sarawak, where community members will gather to participate in activities designed to raise awareness and encourage proactive measures against vehicle theft. The atmosphere will be lively as attendees explore informative booths and take part in interactive demonstrations.
