IPOH, 23 August 2024: The Vehicle Theft and Accident Reduction Council of Malaysia (VTAREC) organised a seminar on vehicle theft, stolen spare parts, cloned vehicles and road traffic accidents involving various government agencies. The half-day seminar was attended by 46 participants from several agencies, including Polis Diraja Malaysia (PDRM), Jabatan Pengangkutan Jalan Malaysia (JPJ) Negeri Perak, Pusat Pemeriksaan Kenderaan Berkomputer (PUSPAKOM) Sdn. Bhd. and Majlis Bandaraya Ipoh (MBI).

The strategic seminar was held at Hotel Casuarina @ Meru, Ipoh, Perak, in conjunction with the VTAREC Vehicle Theft Public Awareness Campaign, which took place at AEON Mall Ipoh Klebang on 24 August 2024.

The seminar aimed to facilitate the exchange of ideas and enhance knowledge through sharing sessions covering the latest developments in vehicle theft, including smuggling activities, vehicle cloning and stolen spare parts. Experts from participating government agencies were invited to deliver presentations and share their expertise during the seminar. The speakers were:

The seminar received positive feedback from the attending enforcement officers, with various questions and sharing sessions contributing to a better understanding of the issues discussed. The discussions were constructive and fruitful. As a token of appreciation for their dedication and participation, YBrs Puan Mas Tina Abdul Hamid, Co-ordinator of VTAREC, presented souvenirs to all speakers at the end of the seminar.
