The presentation emphasised that many vehicle models exceeding 15 years of age are facing shortages of genuine spare parts as manufacturers have ceased production due to limited commercial viability. Strengthening the legitimate recovery, refurbishment, remanufacturing and reuse of automotive components can improve the availability of affordable replacement parts, reduce reliance on illicit supply chains and contribute to reducing vehicle theft.

YBrs Puan Mas Tina Abdul Hamid, General Manager of VTAREC, sharing VTAREC’s approach and efforts in preventing vehicle theft through support for a sustainable automotive circular economy

This sustainable approach promotes resource efficiency, environmental protection and enhances the safety, security and well-being of vehicle owners.
