KUALA LUMPUR<\/strong>, 6 May 2026 : Vehicle Theft and Accident Reduction Council of Malaysia (VTAREC) was entrusted with the opportunity to lead an engagement and advocacy initiative focusing on reducing vehicle theft and road accidents in conjunction with the PIAM Media Briefing event.<\/p>\n

Marking VTAREC\u2019s inaugural participation in such an event, the organisation showcased a variety of anti-theft devices to visitors and members of the media. Among the highlights was an educational steering lock challenge, which attracted significant attention from participants eager to test their ability to install a steering lock in under three seconds.<\/p>\n

The activity showcased by VTAREC successfully demonstrated that installing an additional mechanical locking device is both quick and simple, requiring less than three seconds to secure a vehicle against theft. Impressively, several participants managed to install the steering lock in under two seconds.<\/p>\n
