KLANG SELATAN<\/strong>, 17 October 2024:\u00a0 The Vehicle Theft and Accident Reduction Council of Malaysia (VTAREC) joined forces with Ibu Pejabat Polis Daerah (IPD) Klang Selatan in engaging with the public to advocate awareness on vehicle theft crimes in conjunction with the Townhall Discussion IPD Klang Selatan at Dewan Serbaguna, Balai Polis Pandamaran, Klang, Selangor, hosted by IPD Klang Selatan.<\/p>\n

Engaging with the community regarding vehicle theft is crucial due to its connection to violent crime. Vehicle theft is not merely about stolen cars, but it has a direct link to violent crime. When vehicles are stolen, they can be used in other criminal activities, endangering public safety. By engaging with the community, law enforcement can raise awareness about this connection and encourage vigilance.<\/p>\n

The Townhall discussion is important to provide the community with an opportunity to voice their opinions and problems related to crimes that occur in their respective areas to the invited panellists. Among the issues raised by the community were the influx of foreigners in residential areas, traffic congestion on several roads involving residential areas and the proposals to establish police stations in rapidly developing areas, as well as the proliferation of CCTV installations in certain areas.<\/p>\n

VTAREC is always supportive in educating the community to always take care of their vehicles through educational games such as steering lock games, wheel of fortune and a questionnaire regarding road traffic accidents. The questionnaires that have been collected by VTAREC will be studied as part of efforts to reduce the rate of road traffic accidents.<\/p>\n
